Hello!

I am a visual artist whose work is firmly rooted in my identity and experience as a woman of color. After completing my Bachelors degree in 2004, I began my career in teaching, spending over ten years in gender equity education and another seven years as a public high school art teacher. Working in the education system has informed a large part of my artistic expression.  Through my art, I seek to explore themes of identity, resilience, feminist theory and folklore. As I continue to express myself using visual art  I hope to create thought-provoking, inspiring  and empowering pieces that challenge traditional ideas of beauty.
